Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Announces the Construction of a New Residence Hall at 762 Montgomery Street

Jersey City, N.J. – ÌýJuly 9, 2020 – Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s University today announced that construction will soon begin on a new six-story residence hall, which will be located at 762 Montgomery Street near the University’s Mac Mahon Student Center. The building will feature comfortable suite-style rooms with 288 beds and a variety of amenities for students including kitchenettes, spacious study lounges, game rooms, modern laundry facilities and a fantastic backdrop of the skyline. The University anticipates completion of the residence hall by fall 2021.

“While higher education currently faces incredibly unique circumstances due to coronavirus, COVID-19, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s is thinking towards the future and committed to re-emerging from this challenging time even stronger and more resilient than before,†said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s University. “The construction of this residence hall will be a critical addition to our campus to position the University for future success. We actively encourage our students to live on campus as it can significantly enhance their experience through increased opportunities for participation, personal growth and independence. We are incredibly excited to develop a new space that we believe will improve the quality of the residential experience for our current students, persuade more students to join the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s residential community and will ultimately have a positive impact on the McGinley Square area.â€

The residence hall project is the latest in a series of initiatives designed to enhance the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Jersey City campus. Additional efforts include plans for capital improvements to the West Campus and the recently-established Frank J. Guarini School of Business including the construction of a state-of-the-art lab, innovation hubs, collaborative workspaces and a new entrance.
