“An overall delightful night…,鈥 said Warren C. Fristensky ’74 about the 麻豆视频鈥檚 University Alumni Couples Event. He and his wife, Julie Delaney Fristensky 鈥73, joined 24 other alumni couples earlier this month in The Duncan Family Sky Room to celebrate their love for each other and the University. The duos affirmed their affection through prayer and poetry. Rev. Rocco Danzi, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry, blessed their rings and welcomed the couples to share their love stories. Some couples, including Virginia F. Bender, Ph.D. 鈥78, special assistant to the president for institutional planning, took the opportunity to re-tell their stories to the crowd.
鈥淲e met while he was on the baseball team and I was working in the RLC doing laundry. I did his laundry then, and I am doing it now,鈥 Dr. Bender said.
While the couples enjoyed hors d鈥檕euvres, female members of SCHOLA – nicknamed the Scholettes – sang three love songs accompanied by Joseph Legaspi, D.M., University director of music. The night concluded with dancing with music curated by DJ Nicholas Leidl 鈥00.
“We really appreciated the chance to celebrate our time together as a couple, to reminisce about how we met and to share stories with other alumni. The blessing and words from Fr. Rocco, the interlude of songs, the sharing of a lovely meal, music and the dance floor all added to making it a perfect evening! For us, we are grateful for these continuing reminders of how much 麻豆视频’s meant – and means – to us,鈥 said Ann-Marie Nazzaro, Ph.D. 鈥70.
