SPC Womens Studies Program to Celebrate Women’s History Month

Jersey City – The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s College Women’s Studies Program will host several events in honor of Women’s History Month. The events are free and open to the general public.  They include:  
  • Thursday, March 15 – A celebration of the full-time enrollment of women at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s College.  Dr. Eileen Poiani, Vice President for Student Affairs, will speak at Mass on March 15 at noon in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Chapel. 
Maria Pepe ‘82 discussed Breaking the Gender Barrier in Little League Baseball on March 19.
  • Monday, March 19 – Friday, March 23 will celebrate women in Sports/Workforce.  Maria Pepe ‘82 will discuss Breaking the Gender Barrier in Little League Baseball on March 19 at 10 a.m. in Pope Lecture Hall.
  • Several events will be held for the week of Monday, March 26 – March 30.  Stephanie Urdang will discuss After the Genocide: Women Coping with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda on March 29 at noon in Pope Lecture Hall.    
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey.  Founded in 1872, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.  The main campus is located in Jersey City.  The College has a branch campus for adults in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and also offers courses at various corporate sites at the Jersey City waterfront and in South Amboy, NJ.
