SAINT PETER’S ADVANCES WITH 4-1 WIN OVER NIAGARA; SEMIFINALS NEXT The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s men’s soccer team advanced to the semifinals in the 2003 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s soccer championship tournament earlier this afternoon with a 4-1 win over Niagara. It was the first MAAC post-season win in school history and upped the team’s record to 15-4-2. The 15 wins are the most in school history. The Peacocks are now two wins away from earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s, the third seed, now meets 10th-seeded Rider on Saturday. The Broncs upset second-seeded Fairfield on Wednesday. The winner of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s-Rider game will play in Sunday’s Noon championship game. For more details, see Athletics MAAC Tournament release.
