The event is free to all Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s and HCCC students, alumni, staff and faculty and will be streamed live to NSLS chapters nationwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 1990, with a mere $1,100 in the bank, Steve Madden followed his intuition and set out to create the next big thing: a footwear company able to anticipate consumer needs and subsequently deliver collections that were both cutting edge and highly saleable. Today, Madden whose eponymous company is currently worth over 3 billion dollars believes in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">educating young people on avoiding the mistakes he made. Madden will share with attendees the importance of never selling oneself short, avoiding shortcuts and how one\u2019s past doesn&#8217;t have to define the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are very excited for the opportunity to welcome Steve Madden to our campus to impart his wisdom and experience with our students, the students of HCCC and all the members of our college communities,\u201d said Jan Reimer, M.Ed., director for leadership and engagement for The Center for Leadership, Engagement and Orientation at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University. \u201cThis event would not be possible without our affiliation with The National Society of Leadership and Success and we look forward to more opportunities for programming and partnerships in the future.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This event is the sixth installment of the 2019-2020 multi-speaker broadcast series sponsored by the NSLS.
