\"female<\/a>Jersey City, N.J.<\/strong> \u2013 July 17, 2019 \u2013<\/strong> Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University today announced an accelerated bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing, which will be offered beginning in the fall of 2019. This full-time, 61-credit program will allow students who have a bachelor\u2019s degree in an area other than nursing to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 15 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cÂ鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s excels in its ability to give students the one-on-one attention necessary to succeed in the nursing program and the registered nurse licensure examination,\u201d said Lauren E. O\u2019Hare, Ed.D., RN, director of the program and dean of the School of Nursing at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University. \u201cThe accelerated program will enable even more students to gain the same proficiency in nursing as students in the traditional nursing program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Graduates of the accelerated program will be equipped with the breadth of knowledge and skills required for competent, ethical and empathetic practice of nursing at entry and advanced practice levels. The curriculum synthesizes knowledge from nursing, physical and behavioral sciences, communication and the humanities in implementing the nursing process from a holistic, caring framework. The program will also prepare students for the registered nurse licensure examination (NCLEX-RN).<\/p>\n

In addition to having a bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited college, students who wish to enter the program must formally apply and satisfy the same prerequisites as other applicants, including a 3.0 GPA, a B or greater on prerequisite science courses, satisfactory results of the TEAS Entrance Test and a C+ or greater on all other prerequisite courses.<\/p>\n
