At Amanda\u2019s restaurant in Hoboken, friends of Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University gathered for the sixth annual St. Aedan\u2019s: The Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University Church Fundraiser. Joyce and Eugene O. Flinn \u201980 graciously hosted the five-course dinner with wine-pairings. At the event, guests were able to order from a \u201cmenu\u201d of fundraising options intended to enhance the unique offerings at St. Aedan\u2019s such as community programming, Ignatian learning experiences, \u00a0global justice service and immersion programs, The Campus Kitchen and Schola, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University liturgical choir. The event raised $38,000, bringing the five-year total to $100,000, a clear investment in community programs and those who mentor, support and inspire.<\/p>\n
Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University, shared insight at the event. He reflected on his past 10 years as president, in which he has grown and advanced the University in many ways including attaining University status and a 20 percent increase in enrollment in the past five years. In addition, under Dr. Cornacchia\u2019s tenure, the University assumed responsibility for St. Aedan\u2019s: The Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University Church. In the last decade, the church has grown as well. It is a befitting home of worship for the University\u2019s community of students, alumni and local residents. In addition, Schola’s participation in Mass has deepened campus spiritual experiences while programming from Arts on Bergen offers free concerts at St. Aedan\u2019s. Lastly, The Campus Kitchen provides a beacon of hope for the local disenfranchised and it has served over 35,000 meals to date.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe next 10 years will build on momentum achieved by the unparalleled growth of the last decade,\u201d said Dr. Cornacchia.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
