Jersey City, N.J. \u2013 May 16, 2017 –<\/strong> Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University today announced the creation of the University\u2019s Cyber Security Advisory Board. In 2016, Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s launched a master\u2019s degree in cyber security and a Cyber Security Center, in addition to the pre-existing bachelor\u2019s degree in cyber security. The Cyber Security Advisory Board was developed to advise, assist, support and advocate for the Cyber Security Center and undergraduate and graduate programs in Cyber Security. Members will share expert knowledge and industry experience and serve as a sounding board for senior University executives.<\/p>\n

The members of the Board include Steve Caimi, product manager for U.S. Public Sector Security at Cisco; Douglas Falduto ’86, vice president, chief security officer for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey; Timothy Gallagher \u201990, FBI special agent in charge of the Newark division for the U.S. Department of Justice; Cochi Ho, technology manager for Johnson & Johnson; Maurice Garcia, director of information security for UPS; Jack Jarmon, independent consultant, researcher and author of Cyber Security<\/em>; Gerardo Menegaz, chief architect of global technology services for IBM; Ambrose Nardulli, M.D., managing director of global technology for JPMorgan Chase; Steve Poupos, director of business continuity and emergency preparedness and response for AT&T; Roy Rodriguez, director of cyber security operations for Johnson & Johnson; and Milos Topic, vice president and chief information officer for Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University.<\/p>\n

\u201cÂ鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s is strategically focused on growing and building cyber security programs and resources at the University because this particular field continues to be regarded as one of the most vital areas of computer science today,\u201d said Edward Moskal, M.S., M.M.S. \u201979, chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences and director of the cyber security master\u2019s program and Cyber Security Center. \u201cWe are privileged to have such an elite group of experts with industry experience and knowledge that enables them to be a sounding board that can inspire change.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cyber Security Advisory Board will provide general guidance and advice relevant to industry trends surrounding cyber security and will review and recommend updates to the cyber security program curriculums. The members will provide introductions to possible strategic partners and sources of funding as well as internship and career opportunities for Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s students and alumni whenever possible.<\/p>\n

Data shows that the demand for cyber security professionals has grown three times as fast as the demand for traditional information technology professionals and demand is surpassing supply. Students in the cyber security programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University will learn how to defend information systems from cyber attacks, how to recover compromised systems, how to architect secure systems and more. The state-of-the-art Cyber Security Center was designed in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Center of Excellence, offering students a real-world learning environment unlike any other.<\/p>\n
