Jersey City, N.J. \u2013 October 21, 2016 \u2013<\/strong> Rebecca Jarvis, ABC News<\/em> chief business, technology and economics correspondent, will moderate an in-depth exploration of business sustainability and the triple bottom line at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University 45th<\/sup> Annual Regents Business Symposium on Friday, November 4 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Mac Mahon Student Center. The Symposium will feature Bruce B. Rosenthal, Ph.D., KPMG founding dean of the School of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University, as the keynote speaker. Rosenthal will discuss this year\u2019s theme, Business Sustainability: Securing the Triple Bottom Line<\/em> and future plans for the School of Business.<\/p>\n

The Symposium is one of New Jersey\u2019s longest-running forums designed to inspire and educate leaders from the business community, faculty, students and alumni. This year an esteemed group of industry frontrunners will examine the reality that an organization\u2019s impact extends beyond its profitability and there is more than one bottom line to consider \u2013 in fact, there are three: people, planet and profit.<\/p>\n

Attendees of the event will learn why the inclusion of sustainability in a business plan is critical to an organization\u2019s success; examples of realized benefits from organizations that are already considering business sustainability and the triple bottom line; and some of the challenges associated with the measurement of the triple bottom line.<\/p>\n

In addition to a keynote presentation, the event will feature a panel of experts including John L. Cusack, founder of Gifford Park Associates (GPA); Philip Henson, senior manager of energy and environment sustainability at HanesBrands Inc.; Courtney McCormick, vice president, renewables and energy solutions at Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G); and Faith Taylor, senior vice president, global corporate social responsibility at Wyndham Worldwide.<\/p>\n

In addition to her role with ABC News<\/em>, Jarvis also serves as the creator, host and managing editor of \u201cReal Biz with Rebecca Jarvis.\u201d She has conducted wide-ranging interviews with the biggest names in business, including the first female CEO to ever run a car company, GM\u2019s Mary Barra, mega-investor Warren Buffett, Facebook\u2019s Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey.\u00a0Jarvis has also served as the co-host of \u201cCBS This Morning: Saturday,\u201d as the business and economics correspondent for CBS News<\/em> and as a reporter for CNBC<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In his role as KPMG founding dean of the School of Business, Dr. Rosenthal is providing leadership and strategic direction to enhance education, research and outreach to students, faculty, alumni and external organizations. Prior to this appointment, he served as the director of the School of Business at Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y. where he established a direction for the school that includes an emphasis on sustainable business and a shift to online modality, allowing for greater geographical reach.<\/p>\n

Cusack is the founder of GPA, an organization which develops and implements innovative strategies for integrating sustainability into multinational businesses and financial firms. GPA addresses key financially-material sustainability and reputational value issues such as climate, clean energy, energy efficiency, climate adaption and resilience, water, green bonds, green buildings, supply chain and publically-reported sustainable metrics.<\/p>\n

Henson is a member of the facility engineering team at HanesBrands Inc., which has responsibility for leading engineering, energy demand, environmental sustainability and safety activities for the company. He is an ambassador for sustainability and in recent years has helped elevate the level of energy management, energy data analysis and reporting, and environmental stewardship to internal and external stakeholders. Henson is an active participant within the ENERGY STAR industrial partner\u2019s network and has helped Hanes leverage this partnership to improve company energy performance and garner US EPA ENERGY STAR award recognition for the past seven years.<\/p>\n

In her role as vice president, renewables and energy solutions at PSE&G, McCormick is responsible for the organization\u2019s renewable and other energy service programs. The organizations reporting to her include marketing, solar energy, demand response and energy efficiency. She also has responsibility for solar and energy efficiency programs offered by PSEG Long Island.<\/p>\n

Taylor currently leads Wyndham\u2019s Worldwide Corporate Social Responsibility program policies, reporting and strategies which include sustainability, philanthropy, wellness, diversity, human rights, ethics and responsible sourcing. Under her leadership in 2014 through 2016, Wyndham Worldwide was recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index as both World and North American leader in the Hotel, Resort and Cruise line sector for its environmental, social and governance programs.<\/p>\n
