The new program will provide a seamless transition for HCCC graduates to qualifying programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s. Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University, and Glen Gabert, Ph.D., president of Hudson County Community College, participated in the official signing of the agreement in the president\u2019s office at Hudson County Community College.<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of the agreement, any Hudson County Community College student enrolled in a qualifying program may apply for entry into the dual admissions program at any time prior to the beginning of the semester in which the student will be graduating with an associate\u2019s degree. Students in the dual admissions program will be held to the same academic standards as any Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University student upon enrollment and must meet the standard admission requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Students in the dual admissions program will be seamlessly admitted as juniors at Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s upon graduation. Students will be assigned advisors from both HCCC and Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s. HCCC will provide Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s with copies of students\u2019 transcripts at no cost to Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s and the Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s advisor will maintain an office on the HCCC campus. Qualifying programs include business administration, criminal justice, elementary education, environmental studies and accountancy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe path to completing an advanced degree continues to evolve and Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s takes pride in the University\u2019s unique partnerships with Hudson County Community College, which enable us to stay one step ahead of the trends,\u201d said Dr. Cornacchia. \u201cAgreements such as the dual admissions program promote and stimulate the interest in advanced education, which will prove to be a great asset in the future to Hudson County and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHudson County Community College has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University that has benefitted our students and our community,\u201d said Dr. Gabert. \u201cThis dual admissions agreement will make it easier for area students to attain their bachelor\u2019s degrees in a number of fields.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The dual admissions program agreement dovetails with the recent announcement that the Hudson County Community College Foundation will provide scholarships for students who are graduating from HCCC and transferring to Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u2019s University.
