Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College joined with the Society of Jesus in churches, institutions and organizations all over the world to celebrate the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. An overflowing crowd, consisting of members of St. Aedan’s parish, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College community and local friends, packed Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chapel. Rev. Michael Braden, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry, presided over a noon Mass, concelebrating with Rev. Rocco Danzi, S.J., chaplain, and Rev. John Wrynn, S.J., professor of history. <\/p>\n

Fr. Braden spoke about the need to be inspired not by the centuries-old history of Saint Ignatius, but by the living commitment to Ignatian spirituality demonstrated by all in attendance. He emphasized the role that dedicated lay people share in preserving and actively using The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius<\/em>, and in pursuing the justice of being men and women for others, a Jesuit concept. <\/p>\n

After Mass, the group was welcomed onto the Jesuit Court for a festive barbecue. Everyone enjoyed the music, sunshine and several tables of picnic fare, celebrating the enduring strength of Saint Ignatius’ spiritual leadership and vision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
