Jersey City, N.J.  – <\/strong>Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s University is proud to announce that it was ranked among the best in the region in the U.S. News & World Report<\/em> Best Colleges 2013 guide. In the categories of Average Amount of Need-Based Aid Awarded and Least Debt, the University ranked in the top three of all private institutions in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area.<\/p>\n

Since the Best Colleges 2012 guide was issued, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s experienced an increase in the average freshmen retention rate and the average graduation rate. The percentage of full-time faculty also increased along with the number of freshmen who were in the top 25 percent of their class. <\/p>\n

“As we begin this academic year as Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s University, we are filled with pride and excitement for what the future holds,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s University. “Today’s rankings from the U.S. News & World Report <\/em>Best Colleges 2013 guide gives us even greater motivation as we continue on our path as the Jesuit University of New Jersey. Our rank is truly a tribute to the scores of talented and dedicated faculty, staff, administrators and alumni, who work hard to make Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s the institution that it is and maintain a tireless dedication to the success of our students.”<\/p>\n

The category of Average Amount of Need-Based Aid Awarded is based on the largest need-based financial aid packages given, on average, during the 2011-2012 school year and the ranking in the Least Debt category means that Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s graduates have the lowest debt at the time of their graduation. The data used to determine this ranking include loans taken out by students from the colleges and financial institutions, as well as from federal, state and local governments.<\/p>\n
