Jersey City, N.J.<\/strong> – Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College has partnered with Sogang University to expand study abroad opportunities. Sogang University, located in Seoul, Korea, is the only Jesuit university in South Korea. <\/p>\n

The partnership may include: <\/p>\n

• Exchange of students, researchers, and faculty members for study and research
• Promotion of joint research and educational activities
• Exchange of information and pertinent publication in fields of interest to both universities
• Invitation to short-term visits of faculty members and researchers for lectures, conferences, colloquia, and symposia or other academic activities
• Exchange of students in language programs.<\/p>\n

“As a fellow Jesuit institution, Sogang University’s goals are consistent with our tradition of cura personalis<\/em> or ‘care for the individual.’ Both institutions provide an education based on the fundamental values of academic excellence, leadership, service and faith and this partnership provides a unique opportunity for members of both higher education communities to enrich student learning,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College.<\/p>\n

Sogang University, founded in 1960, was established by the Society of Jesus to provide an education based on Catholic belief and inspired by the Jesuit educational philosophy, in conformity with the Korean tradition of education. The University holds 191 institutional collaborations in 50 countries. More than 400 of its students study abroad every year while Sogang hosts 2,500 international students annually on its 50 acre campus. <\/p>\n
