Jersey City, NJ – Juju Chang, a New York-based, Emmy Award-winning news correspondent for ABC News’ programs, 20\/20<\/em>, Good Morning America<\/em> and Nightline<\/em>, spoke at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College as part of “The John Tagliabue ’67 Lecture Series.” Chang delivered her lecture on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in Pope Lecture Hall on the College’s Jersey City campus.<\/p>\n

Established in 2006, “The John Tagliabue ’67 Lecture Series” pays tribute to the accomplishments of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College alumnus, John Tagliabue ’67, currently the Paris Bureau Chief for The New York Times.<\/p>\n

Chang, who received her Emmy Award in September 2008 for her coverage of the rampant California wildfires, is also the recipient of two Gracie Awards from the organization American Women in Radio and Television. Chang won her first Gracie award for a profile on judicial activism, which appeared on the PBS television show Now<\/em>; she received her second Gracie award for the 20\/20<\/em> segment "Women and Science," on which she profiled trans-gender neurobiologist Ben Barres.<\/p>\n

From 1999 to 2000, Chang anchored early morning newscasts for ABC News’ World News Now<\/em> and World News This Morning<\/em>. For two years prior, Chang primarily reported for World News Tonight<\/em>, covering news such as the U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya, Hurricane George and the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear accident.  Additionally, Chang is the winner of a Freddie award for a series she hosted on PBS television, The Art of Women’s Health<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While based in Washington, D.C., Chang covered news from the White House and Capitol Hill, as well as the 1996 Presidential election for ABC’s affiliate news service NewsOne. She also previously served as a reporter for KGO-TV in San Francisco, and has produced and reported off-air for World News Tonight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Chang graduated with honors from Stanford University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and communication. Married with three sons, Chang is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a founding board member of the Korean American Community Foundation.<\/p>\n
