Indianapolis, IN – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released the 2001 Cohort Graduation Success Rates (GSR) on Tuesday, October 14. Results show that Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College student-athletes have a 91 percent graduation rate, which is 5 percent higher than the NCAA national average graduation rate of 86 percent. <\/p>\n
“We are proud of the student-athletes who have upheld the standard of academic excellence that has long been associated with Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College," said Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott. "These measures indicate the commitment of our administrators, coaches and student-athletes to achieving the ultimate goal of graduation. We applaud their determined efforts."<\/p>\n
The GSR is based on the four entering freshman classes in Division I Athletics from 1998-1999 through 2001-2002 academic years. This year marks the seventh year that GSR data has been collected.<\/p>\n
The NCAA began collecting GSR data with the entering freshman class of 1995. The GSR was developed by the NCAA as part of its academic reform initiative to more accurately assess the academic success of student-athletes.<\/p>\n
