SAINT PETER’S PROFESSOR’S WORK INCLUDED IN ENCYCLOPEDIA OF CRIME AND PUNISHMENT<\/B><\/FONT><\/P> September 12, 2002–<\/FONT><\/I> Jersey City, NJ – Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College Criminal Justice Program Coordinator Dr. Hank Brightman (Ringwood, NJ) has authored two sections for the recently released four-volume Encyclopedia of Crime and Punishment<\/I>. Dr. Brightman wrote sections on Consumer Fraud and Forgery.<\/FONT><\/P> Edited by David Levinson for Sage Publications, the work is the definitive reference source on crime, criminal justice, police science, and related topics. It contains some 500 articles and sidebars, providing an unprecedented range of authoritative information on crime and punishment over the course of human history, across cultures, and in the modern world.<\/FONT><\/P> Prior to joining the Â鶹ÊÓƵ\u201as faculty two years ago, Dr. Brightman served as Chief of the Hazardous Materials Management and Waste Enforcement Unit for the National Park Service and the Criminal Research Specialist for the Newark Field Office of the United States Secret Service. He frequently writes and lectures on issues ranging from youth involvement in white-collar crime and public corruption to hazardous waste offenses. He currently serves at the Editor-in-Chief of the International Association of Law Enforcement Analysts\u201a scholarly national publication, the IALEIA Journal. The publication is distributed to members in 27 countries.<\/FONT><\/P> Dr. Brightman is in the final stages of completing his first book, Stemming the Tide: Understanding and Investigating White-Collar Crime, to be published by Sage Publications in 2003.<\/FONT><\/P> Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs.
