April 23, 2002–<\/I><\/FONT> Five Saint peter’s College Students to be Inducted into Mathematics Honor Society<\/FONT><\/B><\/FONT><\/P> Jersey City, NJ – Five Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College students will be inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon, the national Mathematics Honor Society, on April 30 at 4 p.m. in the Degnan Room on the College’s Jersey City campus. It is the 34th annual induction ceremony.<\/FONT><\/P> The list of inductees follows: <\/FONT><\/P> The event will include presentations by seniors Joe Collins (Bayonne, NJ) on Carbon Nanotubes and Joy Walter (South Plainfield, NJ) on The Effect of Ethanol on Glucose Sensing Neurons of the Hypothalmus. Guest speaker Martin Griffin, a 1994 Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s alum, will talk about Forecasting Models in Theory and Practice.<\/FONT><\/P> Pi Mu Epsilon is a non-secret organization whose purpose is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among students in academic institutions, and among the staffs of qualified non-academic institutions.<\/FONT><\/P> Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs.
