Giacomo “Jack” Novielli, a first vice president at The Provident Bank, has been named the bank’s Chief Information Officer. He is the first person to hold that title in the 163-year-old institution’s history. He will be responsible for dealing with technical challenges and gaining efficiencies from the bank’s current technology and for anticipating changes and improvements that will be necessary to ensure that the bank’s technical architecture continues to complement and support its business strategy. Novielli has more than 25 years of banking industry experience, beginning in 1977 as a part-time teller for The Provident Bank’s 20th Street branch in Bayonne. Novielli has been assistant branch manager, assistant vice president\/manager of bank reconcilement and proof departments, and vice president of project management. Most recently, he was in charge of sales management. Novielli received a master’s degree in business management from Fairfield University. He earned a B.S. in accounting at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College. He also graduated with honors from the National School of Banking and completed a graduate executive development program. Novielli has been a member of the board of trustees of St. Dominic Academy of Jersey City since 1999. A native of Bayonne, Novielli now resides in Howell (NJ) with his wife, Jacqueline, and his sons, Rob and Matthew. The Provident Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Provident Financial Services, Inc.
