Visit follows September visit of Filipino President Arroyo to College Jersey City, NJ — Alberto Del Rosario, the Philippine Ambassador to the United States, will speak at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College on April 14 at 11 a.m. in the Pope Lecture Hall on the College’s Jersey City campus. Ambassador Del Rosario is the second prominent Filipino to visit Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s during this academic year. In September, Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo became the first sitting Head of State to visit the College. Del Rosario held several prominent corporate positions prior to being named Ambassador in October 2001. He held senior positions at the Metro Pacific Corporation, the Philippine Indocoil Corporation, the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company. Active in social and civic causes, Del Rosario is Chairman of the Philippine Cancer Society National Fund Drive and the Free Rural Eye Clinic. The 1st Degree Black Belt is also Chairman of the Korean Hwa Rang Do Martial Arts Association of the Philippines. Del Rosario was born in Manila in 1939, but was educated in New York. He attended Xavier High School in Manhattan with Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College Sociology Professor Dr. Thomas Donnelly before earning his undergraduate degree at New York University. Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs.
