Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Recognized for Best Value in the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings in Regional Universities North Category

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s is proud to announce that the University was recognized among the top ten for best value institutions Ìýas 6thÌýin the Regional Universities North category in the 2023ÌýU.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s also held its place of 58thÌýin the Regional Universities North category overall, after making a considerable climb last year. In addition, the University was recognized for its excellence in social mobility and economic diversity.

“U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges RankingsÌýare a valued resource for many students and parents during the college search process and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s is honored to continually be recognized in the areas that matter to our community,†said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s University. “This year’s rankings are a testament to the University’s growing reputation, results of our strategic plan,ÌýVitality, Value and Viability, and our increase in graduation rates, among other factors.â€

In order to determine the best value rankings,ÌýU.S. News & World ReportÌýconsiders factors such as the institution’s academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid. Colleges and universities that were ranked highest on this list had the best quality programs at the lowest cost. For the overall rankings,ÌýU.S. News & World ReportÌýutilizes 17 measures of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, academic reputation, faculty resources, financial resources and alumni giving, among others.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s was ranked highest in the state of New Jersey in social mobility and 11thÌýin the Regional Universities North category overall.ÌýU.S. News & World ReportÌýdefines social mobility by a college’s success in the upward socio-economic movement of students by enrolling and graduating students awarded federal grants. The University was also ranked 5thÌýin economic diversity in the category overall. Economic diversity is measured based on the percentage of undergraduates receiving federal Pell Grants for low income students.

U.S. News & World ReportÌýdefines a regional university as one that provides a full-range of undergraduate programs and master’s programs, but few doctoral programs. The North Regional University category includes institutions of this nature in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington D.C.
