SNAP is accepted in most retail stores and farmer&#8217;s markets. <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/humanservices\/njsnap\/index.shtml\">https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/humanservices\/njsnap\/index.shtml<\/a><\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p>NJ SNAP cannot be used to buy<\/p><ul><li>Alcohol, tobacco, and cigarettes<\/li><li>Non-food items (pet food, toilet paper, diapers, soap, etc.)<\/li><li>Vitamins and medicine<\/li><li>Hot and prepared food meals<\/li><\/ul><p><\/p><p>College students may be eligible for SNAP if they are enrolled at least half time in an institution of higher education and are eligible to participate in a state or federally financed work-study program or have an Expected Family Contribution of $0 as determined by the Higher Education Act.
