The Outstanding Service award is an opportunity to recognize those employees whose outstanding performance contributes to or enhances the mission of the University\u00a0and helps create a more positive environment for students and fellow employees.<\/p>\n

Nominations<\/h3>\n

Candidates for an award can be nominated by any employee or student by filling out a nomination form for submission to the Office of Human Resources. Nominations will be presented to the Awards Committee consisting of three (3) representatives from both administration and staff.<\/p>\n

I \u2013 ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.<\/li>\n
  2. Must have at least one year of service.<\/li>\n
  3. Employees with titles of Assistant Dean, Assistant Director, and above would not be eligible for consideration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    II \u2013 SELECTION CRITERIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Excellence in overall job performance<\/li>\n
    2. Outstanding service to students, staff and visitors<\/li>\n
    3. Leadership on the job<\/li>\n
    4. Customer focus<\/li>\n
    5. Quality\/Quantity of work over a period of time (special project)<\/li>\n
    6. Cost effectiveness \u2013 making suggestions that save time\/money<\/li>\n
    7. Initiative and\/or creativity in performing assigned duties<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      III \u2013 NOMINATING PROCEDURES<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Nominations for Outstanding Service Awards can be made by Vice Presidents, Administrators, Staff, Faculty and Students.<\/li>\n
      2. Nominations must be made in writing utilizing the \u201cOutstanding Service Award \u201cnomination form (online version below).<\/li>\n
      3. Forms must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources no later than the 1st day of each month for consideration for the following month\u2019s award.<\/li>\n
      4. Once a nomination is received the Supervisor\/Department Head of nominated employee will be sent a comment form.\u00a0 This form must be completed and returned to Human Resources.<\/li>\n
      5. The Office of Human Resources will submit completed nominations to the Awards Committee.<\/li>\n
      6. Nominations will remain active for one year from the date of submission.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
