  {"id":227,"date":"2014-09-24T12:59:48","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T16:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/global-learning\/?page_id=227"},"modified":"2024-09-23T10:09:01","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T14:09:01","slug":"health-insurance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/global-learning\/health-insurance\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Insurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the extremely high cost of healthcare in the USA, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ\u2019s University requires that all international students have medical insurance coverage for the duration of their program in the United States, with the following minimum benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness<\/li>\n<li>Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,500<\/li>\n<li>Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $50,000<\/li>\n<li>A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This insurance requirement may be satisfied in one of two ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign up online for any one of four university-approved health insurance plans from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalstudentinsurance.com\/schools\/saint-peters-university.php\">International Student Insurance<\/a>, or<\/li>\n<li>Opt to buy health insurance from another insurer. Other health insurance must meet the minimum benefits listed above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you have purchased your policy, please email a copy of your policy documents to <a href=\"mailto:iss@saintpeters.edu\">iss@saintpeters.edu<\/a>. Insurance coverage should be effective from day one in the USA.
